With more than 100 years' worth of experience in soil and water research, Eijkelkamp Soil & Water is helping to create a healthy and safe living environment. Worldwide, we are looking for solutions together with our customers and partners, using our sampling and measuring tools to provide information. As part of this process, we apply our knowledge, technology and expertise practically when monitoring soil and water.
Eijkelkamp and RichWaterWorld
Eijkelkamp Soil & Water has a great wealth of knowledge when it comes to installing sensors that monitor the current state of the climate, water and soil as an integrated whole. By installing different sensors, it is possible to instantly gather data about precipitation, evaporation, surface water and groundwater level, temperature and soil moisture content. It is also possible to monitor the water quality for various parameters. The photo below shows the measuring instruments for meteorological observations in RichWaterWorld's experimental plot.
Smart data systems
Using a web portal application, it is possible to forecast both drought and future flood conditions. This web application is fed by information from telemetric sensors, short and long-term weather forecasts and hydrological models. As a result, the water authority possesses a highly developed visualisation tool (see figure) which they can use to proactively retain water or drain it in time in order to make room for water storage.
