This web application also gathers data from radar images and weather models, which are optimised for the respective area. The hydrological model is the third component of the WaterRijkWeb. All this information is placed in conjunction with each other on the WaterRijkWeb data platform so that, within the framework of operational water management, it is possible to anticipate drought and flood-related problems. As a result, the water authority possesses a highly developed visualisation tool that it can use to proactively retain water or indeed drain it in time in order to make room for water storage.
